Jackie Collas has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against IKEA for the death of her 2-year old son, Curren Collas of Chester County. Collas was crushed and killed by an IKEA MALM dresser that had tipped over and fallen onto him. Jackie claims IKEA failed to warn about the severity of the dangers associated with the product, and also failed to provide proper safety features. She also claims that the product is “defective and dangerous”. Collas’ lawyer claims that the accident would not have had happen if the product had been “designed properly and sold with adequate warnings. The lawsuit was filed in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court, and the family is seeking financial compensation for medical and funeral expenses, as well as emotional distress caused to Jackie Collas.
